FOUNDATIONS

Private foundations have always been munificent and active supporters of Community Servings. We recognize that effective partnerships with corporate and foundation funders is essential to our success and ability to carry out our mission. Since Community Servings' inception in 1990, we have received generous grants from local and national foundations to support our mission to feed those affected by critical illness as well as to support our innovative complimentary programs such as the Community Servings Teaching Kitchen job-training program and the Meals for Many social enterprise.

Funder Profile

With the help of the MA Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Community Servings has been bringing our nutrition program to those affected by breast cancer and their families since 2004. Komens annual support has been instrumental in our service to breast cancer survivors, enabling us to deliver medically-tailored meals to the doorsteps of our clients, provide nutritional supplements and nutrition Care Packages to those at the highest levels of nutritional vulnerability as well as nutrition education workshops and presentations to the broader breast cancer community.

With the help of the Komen MA Affiliate we expect to serve 36,000 meals to 110 clients, dependents, and caregivers affected by breast cancer this year. Individuals with breast cancer comprise just under ten percent of our clients and we are committed to outreach that will offer our meals program to agencies, organizations, and health care providers that serve individuals with breast cancer. Thanks to the Komen MA Affiliates annual fundraisers, they are able to provide grants, such as the one to Community Servings, to help fund local services and programs that address breast health needs throughout Massachusetts.
